EPL Season Predictions

With the first matches of the 2016/17 season played, many punters are trying to work out which online bookmakers free bets are the best when gambling on who will win the league this year. With Leicester City the surprise winners of last year, many are searching for an underdog to do it again to take advantage of the huge odds. If you managed to place a free bet on Leicester City to win the title last season, you would have won a fortune. It is highly unlikely that lightening will strike twice, though, but as the EPD has shown, anything is possible.

Who are the likely teams to win the 2016/17 season?

If last season had not taken place you could have narrowed the field down to four teams that had a chance of winning the league. This season, however, is going to be the most interesting on record as there are at least 8 teams in with a chance. Leicester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Chelsea, West Ham are the main contenders and it is worth looking for the best free bet offers to back one of these to win it. Below we look in more detail at teams that should be competing to be crowned champions this time around.

Leicester City

The had a miracle season last year and no one picked them to be winners come to the end of the season. With a lot of their star players, heads turned due to some of the biggest clubs in the world wanting to sign them, it could add as a big distraction until the transfer market closes. They lost their first match against Hull City in a game they would have won last year. Maybe they used up all of their luck last year and I am not expecting them to win it this season.

Manchester United

The Red Devils have been in a long transitional period since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. They have employed the special one to try to turn things around but the question is has he lost his magic touch after the disaster he had with Chelsea last season. They managed a 1 - 3 away win against Bournemouth in their opening game but with lots of new players they need to gel fast if they are going to have a chance of being crowned champions.

Arsenal F.C

The Gunners should have won the title last season but yet again they bottled it. Will things be different this time around? They lost their first match in an epic battle against Liverpool 4 - 3 which is nothing to be ashamed of. If they are going to win it though, these are the matches they need to win. If they do not win it this year, it could spell the end for long-serving manager Wenger as the fans are getting very restless at the Emirates.

Liverpool

Klopp has now been able to enter the transfer market for the first time and buy players that fit his all actions tactics. With a fantastic win over Arsenal, confidence will be high in the dressing room. They will need to be consistent week in week out which is something they were unable to do last year. If they can solve this they have an excellent chance of winning the league this year.

Tottenham Hotspur

If Spurs has started off last season well they would have been crowned champions last year. They would have hoped to hit the ground running this time around. They managed to improve the squad with some excellent purchases and it was the youngest team last year, so they will have the experience this time around. Things did not go to plan those as they were only able to manage to draw against Everton. Looking back though it is not too bad a result due to them playing away from home. They can not afford too much more slip-ups though if they are going to be genuine contenders like they were last time around.

Manchester City

With the best manager in the world now in charge, it will be interesting to see if he can prove himself in the hardest league in the world. They managed to sneak past Sunderland away winning 1 - 2 scoring a goal in the last-minute. If you are going to win the league these are the goals you need to score when the pressure is on. I think it will take one season for the team to get used to the new manager's tactics and thinking so maybe it is a little too early to put free bets on them to win it this year around.

Chelsea

If you are looking for the best free bets offers my bet would be on Chelsea. They can not play worse than they did last year and they have a huge advantage over the other teams competing for the title as they are not in Europe. With been able to completely concentrate on the league it should give them a great chance of winning the title back from Leicester City. With an impressive 2 - 1 win over London rivals West Ham in their first match, they are the ones to look out for.
